This includes the bones, joints, muscles, ligaments, tendons, and connective tissues that allow us to move. The primary goal is to reduce pain, restore mobility, and help you regain strength and function after an injury, surgery, or due to chronic conditions.

[Pelvic Floor] Physical Therapy

Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy (PFPT) is a specialized form of physical therapy focused on assessing and treating dysfunction of the muscles, ligaments, and connective tissues within the pelvic floor. This essential group of muscles forms a supportive sling at the base of the pelvis, playing a critical role in bladder and bowel control, sexual function, and core stability.

Wellness Services

Wellness services include fitness and movement assessments with individualized exercise programming. Treatments may involve manual therapy using massage techniques, stretching, taping, as well as exercise programming to meet individual goals. These services are completed by our strength and wellness coaches and consulted with our Doctors of Physical Therapy.

Heather Boies

Heather Boies worked as a Physical Therapy Assistant in Utah for 15 years before relocating to Santa Cruz County where her sister lives nearby. She has specialized in orthopedics of shoulder, knee, and hip rehabilitation. Heather is also passionate about senior health and wellness to further educate on fall prevention.

Heather wants to use her passion for senior health through small-group balance classes and 1-on-1 personal training.

Hobbies:

Open water swimming, trail running in the redwoods, and learning about outdoor recreation in California.

Dr. Matthew Davis
(He/Him/His) PT, DPT

Matt grew up in Santa Cruz County as a multi-sport athlete and collegiate football player with multiple injuries and ankle surgery that led to his path to becoming a Doctor of Physical Therapy. As a father of 2 girls, Matt has developed a passion for staying healthy and active in order to run and play with his kids for as long as possible and promote an active lifestyle for his family and other families. Matt has a manual-focused background from Western University of Health Sciences, with a Movement System Impairments’ assessment and treatment learned from his previous mentors at Precision Physical Therapy. Matt enjoys participating in the Santa Cruz Triathlon, playing golf and basketball, hiking, and gardening in his backyard.

Dr. Rachel Rose-Murphy
(She/Her/Hers) PT, DPT

Dr. Rachel grew up in Santa Cruz and has a passion for fitness. Having competed in women’s bodybuilding and worked as a personal trainer, she has firsthand experience with the demands of intensive training. After facing injuries and undergoing physical therapy, she felt like the treatment lacked personalization, which made her determined to study physical therapy.

Rachel graduated from Hawaii Pacific University’s inaugural Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Her goal is to empower people to express themselves through movement and to offer individualized care meeting each client’s needs.

Hobbies: Enjoys spending time with her husband and furbabies, working out, painting, and playing games with friends.
